A day at Chester Market

Chester market is filled with stalls and food vendors, serving amazing dishes weekdays until 4pm with late nights on a Friday and Saturday. You can eat and drink all night until 10pm (but get down early enough as they usually sell out around 8pm and you don’t want to miss out)! There is live music on a Saturday and if you are as indecisive as me you will love this place. You can order from a mixture of places and satisfy every craving!

Here is the low down on some of my personal faves:

Gator Pit is Chester's first and only Louisiana food stall, their spicy gumbo is real ‘soul food’ and if you’ve never tried gumbo before this is the perfect place to give it a go. They have a selection of authentic dishes and sides. On their opening weekend they sold out of everything which does not surprise me, I had it last week and it was delicious!

Guroma is one of my absolute favourites in the market. Its traditional Bangladeshi street food is comfort food at its finest, the recipes have been passed down through generations and their Special Curry Boxes are great value for money - Starter, Main Curry, Side, Sauce and all served with Basmati rice, from £8 to £9. Their chicken and lamb are slow cooked in the sauces and melts in your mouth, the potatoes are always soft, and you must keep an eye out for their specials!

Next up is Death By Tacos baby. Making mega tacos and sick memes daily, make sure you get your order in an hour before closing so you don’t miss out. Check out their specials as there is always something different. Veggie and plant-based filling alongside Chipotle Chicken and Beef Birria if you’re after something meatier. Toppings include fermented salsas, picked onions and lots more. They even have 2 for £10 Tacos on a Tuesday and £5 Margaritas on a Tuesday & Thursday… Because they couldn't get any better right?
